LIVINGSTON PARISH FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT 7 UNVEILS NEW EXTRICATION EQUIPMENT
FROM FIREHOUSE SUBS PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION

September 26, 2023 – Denham Springs, LA – According to the U.S. Federal Highway Administration, over 50% of all crashes occur at or near intersections. Traffic signals, multiple lanes, and heavy amounts of traffic make these locations particularly dangerous. Increased accidents at intersections place added stress on the already difficult job of first responders.

But, thanks to a grant of $17,875 from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 7 is now better equipped with new extrication tools to help them remove trapped victims quickly and efficiently following motor vehicle accidents.

Fire Chief, Jerry Brook said, “these new battery powered extrication tools will greatly improve our ability to rescue trapped victims not only in across Frost and Colyell in Livingston Parish but also in neighboring communities as well when called for mutual aid.”

WHAT:                 To celebrate the receipt of this grant, local Firehouse Subs owner Josh Culbreth will join Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 7 at Firehouse Subs – Denham Bass Pro for an acknowledgement ceremony and official check presentation from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Interviews with Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 7 members and Josh Culbreth will be available, along with a hands-on opportunity to view the awarded equipment.
