23 Graduate from 2016 Leadership Livingston Program, Impacts Thousands in Parish
On the evening of Tuesday, June 21, the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce hosted a graduation event in celebration of their Leadership Livingston class of 2016. This concludes the 4th successful year of the Leadership program.
This year’s graduating class of 23 tackled a total of 4 community projects. Combined, these projects influenced multiple communities over the entire parish. Projects included lighting in Denham Springs Antique District, a community park in Town of Albany, a helipad in Killian, and new shoes for students parish-wide. Overall, the total impact was concluded at cash and in kind contributions totaling $120,652, at least 1600 volunteer hours and impacted thousands of residents.
In ongoing efforts due to great needs, Chamber’s Leadership Alumni will continue the shoes program. J&N Albany Community Park will also be seen through to completion.
Three individuals were acknowledged for going “Above & Beyond.” Class participants were asked to nominate an individual from their group for going beyond expectations to ensure completion of their projects. Above & Beyond was awarded to Amy Konieczka, Lighting the Night; Kay Landry, Team Vision; and Todd Peters, Heart & Sole.
Leadership Class sponsors Regions Bank, North Oaks Health System, and First Guaranty Bank were also recognized as well as class presenters; lunch sponsors; venue sponsor, Ferrara Fire Apparatus; and event sponsors.
