800 Valentine’s Cards Collected for Livingston Parish Seniors Over 800 Valentine Day cards were donated to senior citizens in Livingston Parish as part of a community service initiative. The service project was spearheaded by the Livingston Young Professionals. Arts Council Mural Completion Celebrated with Ribbon Cutting
The Arts Council of Livingston Parish’s long-awaited mural, spanning 70 feet of the exterior wall, is complete. The Council, Leadership Livingston Class of 2019 and the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce celebrated the piece with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday evening. Business Leaders sponsor Doyle High School FBLA program Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce recently sponsored the Doyle High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) team at the March State Competition. Doyle recently reactivated their chapter of student members after several years of inactivity and competed at district competition at SLU. U.S. Chamber Business Delegation Trip in Louisiana: Long Term Flood Recovery
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Corporate Citizenship Center (CCC) will lead a corporate delegation trip to Baton Rouge, LA on November 1 – 2. The delegation will introduce business leaders to nonprofits, chambers, government officials, and other community organizations that are leading the recovery in Louisiana following the August flooding. Leadership Livingston Class of 2017 Moving forward
Leadership Livingston Class of 2017 was announced in July. The annual Meet & Greet for the class was planned for August 15, 2016 and the opening retreat for the class was planned for the following weekend. The weekend of August 13th brought more rain and flooded a large portion of Livingston Parish. Once the chamber stabilized operations, they were able to reach out to the class to gage their interest and ability to participate in the class. The overwhelming response was YES.
